Benefits of Strength Training

Having muscle isn’t all about aesthetic goals or wanting to compete. There are countless benefits to building muscle including...
✅increases metabolism
✅strengthens bones, joints, ligaments
✅controls blood sugar
✅decreases cancer risk
✅improves cardiovascular health
✅improves mental health
✅improves mobility, decreases injury and makes everyday activities easier especially as you age
✅increased life span

So while looking “fit” is an added bonus there are clearly many important reasons why you SHOULD be strength training.

And don’t forget that muscle needs food and progressive overload to grow. Most women I talk to think they are eating maintenance/surplus level calories and turns out it’s not even close. Especially when they are constantly negating their efforts with a ton of cardio. So if your goal is to get “toned” it’s time to up the weights and the food!
