SPOT treating fat

SO unfortunately you cannot pinpoint where you lose fat. Weight comes off differently for all people based off genetics. Can’t choose to keep your booty, but lose the belly. So for most people the goal is to lose fat and gain muscle right? Calorie deficit is essential to lose fat. When we are first starting out with a higher body fat percentage, we are at a benefit because our excess fat stores can be used as fuel for body to build muscle, we don’t necessarily need the fuel from food at this stage of the game. Now this shouldn’t be confused for thinking fat can turn into muscle. We still need to burn the fat in deficit and build the muscle with weight training. And muscle is not just magically under the fat if we did not build it

I frequently get asked how I got so muscular in a short amount of time? Well I didn’t. I have been lifting weights for almost 4 years now. One year ago I put my body in deficit and the fat layer came off. I continued to lift weights and build with my excess fat stores. But most of my muscle was built when I was eating more at maintenance/surplus over previous years. I lost a lot weight pretty quickly so unfortunately I did lose a lot of curves. I have been reverse dieting and keeping myself at maintenance now for almost a year. It has allowed me to continue to build muscle and not fat

Some tips that have continued to help me burn fat instead of muscle...eating enough protein, taking refeeds/diet breaks/carb cycling, not doing too much cardio, and of course weight training

There is such a sweet spot with figuring this little puzzle out. I’m always in awe at what our bodies can do. Truly a gift. Happy weekend my fit friends! ❤️SC
