Meal Prep

I’m getting ready to start my first macro coaching group tomorrow and one of the biggest things I can recommend to anyone starting fresh with macro counting is meal prepping. There are so many benefits to having meals ready to go in your fridge

Please keep in mind nothing needs to be fancy! This can be simply cooking up different protein options and then 2-3 different veggies and rotating them around. When I prep I usually only cook up enough for 3 days because I feel that’s best time frame for food to taste good

When you have a plan with your food you are less likely to go off path and make bad decisions. If you already have food made and ready to go then you likely won’t be tempted to grab handfuls of junk to curb hunger. Also if you have food made in your fridge you likely won’t want to waste it by choosing something else (fast food or something less macro friendly)

Meal prepping is great way to get a preview of how your macros will look for the day as well. Then you know how much room you will have for snacks or other meals that maybe are not prepped. I’m always so impressed by those who plan out their whole day of food. I still have yet to get to that point and I eat a little more on the fly. But when you do that you must make sure you check the macros on your food before you just eat it. Make sure it fits

And finally you can clearly save a lot of money doing this. This is something I need to get better about. I spend a lot of money on food. And one thing is for sure it will always be more expensive to eat healthy which is sad. But if you can’t meal prep and don’t mind paying the extra money there are plenty of macro friendly meal prep companies out there and I a huge fan of these as my life has gotten busier

One way or another have a plan! And keep the mentality that you can’t eat it if you don’t track it. That will keep you from those tastes and bites!!! Good Luck!
